GILL’S II HAEMATOXYLIN
Haematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining is the most frequently used staining method in pathological histology. It was introduced in 1876 by Wissowzky. Gill’s haematoxylin was officially introduced at 20th Annual scientific meeting of the American Society of Cytopathology in New Orleans in 1972. Formulations of Gill I and Gill II were published in 1974. Gill I and Gill II are recommended for progressive and Gill III – for regressive staining from Gill himself.
